LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Athletics is proud to announce the launch of a new community initiative designed to bring the excitement of Siena Basketball to fans across the Capital Region. The Saints Give-Back Ticket Program will provide an opportunity for businesses, community partners, families, and individuals to purchase Siena Basketball tickets which will then in turn be donated to community members who otherwise may not have the opportunity to attend a game at MVP Arena.
"One of the most powerful things about Siena Basketball is the connection we have with the Capital Region," said Siena University Deputy Director of Athletics
Lori Anctil. "We want MVP Arena to be a place where everyone in our community feels welcome and has the opportunity to experience the energy and excitement of Siena Basketball. This program allows our fans to do something special – support the Saints while giving someone else the opportunity to be part of our basketball family."
Siena has partnered with the Capital District YMCA as the program's inaugural community partner. Through the partnership, tickets donated through the program will be distributed to YMCA members throughout the 2026–27 season, creating opportunities for children, families, and community members from across the Capital Region to experience Siena Basketball together.
"Partnerships like this are important to our YMCA and the communities that we serve," said Capital District YMCA President and CEO Dave Brown. "Basketball has a special place in our history. It was invented at the YMCA, and it continues to be an important part of what we do. Working with Siena Basketball provides our members another way to come together and enjoy the game while removing financial barriers so more people can share in that experience. I want to thank Jason Hover for his generosity as well as Siena for making this initiative happen."
The program has already received tremendous support. Hover has become the first donor to come on board, purchasing 500 Siena Basketball tickets to be distributed to Capital District YMCA members throughout the season.
For Hover, being the first donor was about more than purchasing tickets.
"When I first pitched this idea to Lori and the rest of the team at Siena, I envisioned a program that would give back to the community by creating experiences for the younger generation that may not otherwise have had the opportunity to attend a live sporting event," said Hover. "For Lori and her team to bring that vision to life is tremendous. Growing up and attending games with my father, and now with my own children, really has a special place in my heart. I couldn't be prouder of this program and hope that others will join in my support to give access to as many future Siena Basketball fans as possible." Â
The Saints Give-Back Ticket Program is open to any community member, family, business or organization interested in supporting Siena Basketball while giving back to the Capital Region. Donors can purchase tickets that will be designated for community distribution through the Capital District YMCA throughout the season.
Every ticket purchased through the program represents an opportunity for someone to walk through the doors of MVP Arena, cheer on the Saints, and experience the excitement of Siena Basketball.
"This is a chance for our community to rally around Siena Basketball in a different way," said Siena Athletics Van Wagner General Manager
Lynne Young. "When someone purchases tickets through this program, they're not just supporting the Saints, they're helping put a child, a parent, a family, or a neighbor in the stands. That's what makes it so exciting. This Capital District YMCA has been a long-standing partner and proud supporter of Siena Athletics, and to be able to help them means everything to us."
