Siena Athletics announced the return of longtime veteran administrator Lori Anctil to the department as the Associate Athletic Director for External Relations in March 2024. The former Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics at the College of Saint Rose brought nearly 25 years of experience in collegiate athletics back to Loudonville.

"Lori has over two decades of valuable administrative and executive leadership experience in collegiate athletics, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome her back as a member of the Siena family,” Siena Vice President / Director of Athletics John D’Argenio said upon Anctil's appointment. “Her strategic vision and leadership skills will allow her to help us thrive in Building Better Saints, and in leading our department's External Team to new heights."

Anctil spent the previous four-and-a-half years leading the athletics department at Saint Rose, arriving across town from Siena in August 2019. She oversaw the development of 19 NCAA Division II programs who competed in the prestigious Northeast-10 Conference, highlighted by the nationally-recognized Women’s Soccer program, who made the NCAA Division II National Championship Game in 2021. Anctil also oversaw renovations to the R. Mark & Kathy Sullivan Field in 2023, helped usher in the Women’s Lacrosse program, and navigated the department through the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I want to thank John D’Argenio for the opportunity to bring me back to Loudonville,” Anctil said. “When I began my career at Siena, I knew immediately this was a special place. The experiences I had throughout my fourteen plus years under John’s leadership and guidance led me to becoming an athletic director myself. I am returning to Siena as a much stronger leader with passion and energy to make an impact for the student-athletes, donors, alumni, fans, and friends I serve.

Anctil previously spent 14 years at Siena, and was promoted to Siena College Assistant Vice President and Deputy Director of Athletics on July 1, 2019. She was previously elevated to associate athletic director/senior woman administrator on Jan. 27, 2014, after having served as the assistant athletic director for development since her return to the College in March 2007. Anctil first joined the College as the athletic department’s academic advisor and assistant compliance officer from 1999-01.

During her time at Siena, Anctil assisted the vice president/athletic director in the daily operation of the department, and served as the primary advisor in the areas of planning and policy. She oversaw the department’s compliance and student services (academic advising, life skills, sports medicine, sports performance, and strength and conditioning), and served as the liaison with the College’s enrollment management, academic affairs, and student life departments, as well as overseeing the men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s lacrosse, and volleyball programs.

Anctil previously served as the chair of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Committee, and as a representative on the MAAC Strategic Plan, Finance, and Gender and Diversity Issues Committee, as well as a member of the league’s Committee on Athletic Administration. She has also served on various Siena College committees including the Strategic Planning, College Planning and Finance, Strategic Enrollment Management, and Cleary Compliance committees.

In her earlier role as assistant athletic director for development, Anctil managed the Saints Alive! Athletic Giving Fund which raised over $500,000 annually for the benefit of Siena's student athletes. She also managed the athletic department's key fundraising events, solicited gifts for the College's capital campaign project, and established various outreach initiatives. Anctil served as academic advisor/assistant compliance officer and an assistant women’s soccer coach at Siena from August of 1999 through June of 2001, and then worked as director of men's basketball operations under Louis Orr at Seton Hall from June of 2001 until April of 2006.

Anctil obtained both her bachelor's (legal studies) and master's degrees (higher education administration) from the University at Buffalo, where she was a four-year standout on the Bulls' women's soccer team. Upon graduation, she played soccer professionally for the Long Island Lady Rough Riders.

A native of nearby Rotterdam, New York, Anctil was a 2019 Mohonasen High School Hall of Fame inductee. Anctil and her husband, Nate, currently reside in Slingerlands with their daughter, Madilyn, and son, Jacob.
