Water Polo Adds Four

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena Water Polo has added four to the program for the Class of 2021. The four additions hail from California, Illinois and Texas.

Anna Borton makes her way to Siena from Huntington Beach, California. Borton was named to the Huntington Beach High School Sunset League All Academic Team from 2013-17. She was tabbed for the Sunset League Sportsmanship Leadership Conference in 2015. Borton received the Coach’s Oiler Award in 2015 for varsity swimming. She was part of the junior olympics from 2013-17. Borton has earned the California State Seal of Biliteracy along with the 2017 President’s Award for Academic Excellence. She was a USA Water Polo Academic All-American from 2014-17.

Kristen Burger was a member of the national honor society at Maine West High School. The Des Plaines, Illinois native is a four-time All-Conference member. She was All-Section three times in her high school career. Burger was named the Most Valuable Player twice and was an All-State selection once.

Lauren Howe was a four-year varsity member of the water polo team at Westview High School. The Poway, California native was the Most Valuable Player on the junior varsity squad for two years. During the 2016-17 season she scored 21 goals and dished out seven assists in 15 games.

Sophia Torres was named to the TISCA Water Polo All-Region Team in 2015. The Grapevine, Texas native was First Team All-Region, First Team All-State this past year. She also earned the Defensive MVP Award Dragon Water Polo. In 2016, Torres was First Team All-Region, First Team All-State and Thunder Water Polo “Coaches’” Award. She was a four-year member of the Key Club at Carroll Senior High School and earned the Dragon Athletic Scholar Award from 2014-17.
