LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Siena College Athletic Department has announced that women's water polo player Devan Ragg and women's tennis student-athlete Lauren Moy have been named the Leo Dufort Student-Athletes of the Month representing the month of April. The duo has excelled both in athletic competition and in the classroom.

A sophomore attacker from Ann Arbor, Mich., Ragg recently completed a stellar season for the Saints. Ragg started all 27 games this spring and led the team with 48 assists. Additionally, she ranked third on the team in goals (25), points (73) and ejections drawn (26). Ragg also joined the swim team this year where she consistently placed impressive times in multiple events.

As a student, Ragg has maintained a strong GPA of 3.0 both during the fall semester and overall as an undecided science major.

A native of Encino, Calif., Moy went 3-9 overall this season including a strong 2-3 record in MAAC competition. She accrued a 5-8 record in doubles competition, earning her an All-MAAC Second Team selection at #1 doubles.

In the classroom, Moy posted a 3.5 GPA last semester and has a 3.51 cumulative GPA as a biology major.

The Leo Dufort Student-Athlete of the Month Award is presented nine times annually (September-May) throughout the academic year. The award recognizes exemplary achievements in both academics and athletics. The late Leo Dufort received a B.S. in marketing and management from Siena in August of 1977. His entire academic career was completed on a part-time basis beginning in the spring of 1961, as a married adult while at the same time raising five children. He passed away suddenly of a heart attack while cross country skiing in February of 1993. His wife Jeanine wanted to do something to immortalize his memory. The original plaque was donated to athletics and the department began the Leo Dufort Student-Athlete of the Month Award to help carry out his legacy. Dufort graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1954, was a Navy Veteran (USS Bennington) who worked for JL Hammett Co. at the time of his death.
