The Siena water polo team was tabbed to finish sixth in the seven team league according to the MAAC Coaches poll.

The Saints finished fourth in 2012, with a 4-8 conference record and going 9-21 overall.

Siena only graduates two seniors from last year’s squad.  Traci Robertson and Katie Ness, who totaled 76 goals, which is just over 30 percent of last year’s offense.

The Green and Gold also return their starting goalie, Madeline Hurley, who went 7-21 with an 11.52 goals against average in 2012.

Two-time defending MAAC champions Iona College received 46 points, leading the way for the conference.  The Gaels were followed by Wagner (42), Marist (37), Villanova (23), Saint Francis (N.Y.) (20), Siena (18), and VMI (10).

The Saints open their season Feb. 23 at the MAAC/CWPA Crossover in Villanova, Pa.  Siena will take on four teams in the first two days: Princeton, Mercyhurst, George Washington, and Harvard.
