Siena Water Polo Drop Three Games at Wagner

STATEN ISLAND, NY - The Siena College water polo team dropped to a 9-15, 1-8 in the MAAC with their three losses earlier today. The Saints fell to Marist, 7-5, St. Francis, 9-8 and Wagner 11-5. Freshman Caitlin Smith picked up 11 goals and two assists on the day while junior Shanna Allen connected on five goals. Freshman Kaedy Graves blocked 19 saves.

Against Marist, the Saints received offense from Allen and Smith who both poured in two goals each, while sophomore Anne Lafex added one goal, as the Red Foxes were led by Allison Rader with three goals. Marist wins the season series, 3-0.

In the Saints second game, Smith netted all eight goals with seven being unassisted while sophomore Jeannette Ogren tallied an assist in the Saints 9-8 loss. Michele Ferretti led the Terriers with three goals. Graves blocked 11 shots.

Host Wagner College received a balance attack from seven players led by Jamie Fullen three goals to lead the Seahawks to an 11-5 win over the Saints. Allen led the Saints with three goals. Graves exchanged roles with Ogren in the net to garner an assist in the six goal deficit.

The Saints close out the season tomorrow at Iona in an 11:30 am swim-off.
