The Siena College Water Polo team dropped its final Northeastern Division Championship contest to host school Utica College, 8-7 Sunday afternoon. With the loss the Saints finished the Championships 0-3, having previously suffered setbacks to Brown and Connecticut College a day earlier.

The Saints jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first, courtesy of two goals by Erica Strein and one from Shanna Allen. Utica put away two tallies in the second while holding the Saints to just one goal from Allen to pull to within one of the Green and Gold at the half with a 4-3 score.

Roles reversed in the third and Siena netted two in the third and kept Utica to just one for a 6-4 lead as they entered the final quarter of play.

After closing the Siena gap to just one goal with a little over a minute to play, Utica found the back of then net with no time left on the clock to send the contest into overtime.

Utica's first overtime goal prooved to be enough as they took the eventual 8-7 victory.

Strein led the Saints with three goals while Allen and Lauren Earl netted two each.
