LOUDONVILLE, N.Y.-Head coach Rob Swingle and the Siena women's water polo team hosted their final contest for the 2005 season as they split 1-1 in an overtime 11-7 win against Villanova University and a 10-5 loss to Marist College this afternoon.

In the deep water, Siena claimed their first MAAC win of the season, led by the offense of freshman Caitlin Smith who knocked two of her four goals to give the Saints a thrilling double digit win over the Wildcats. The Saints new drop defense really frustrated the Villanova shooters, Siena charged from two goals down in the 4th quarter to tie the game on off of Smith two goals. Sophomore utility Annie LaFex poured in two goals while veteran Shanna Allen turned in four assists and won 5-of-6 swim-offs.

Marist entered today's contest splitting at home yesterday in league play, as they claimed their second win against the Saints, 10-5. In the first half, the game became a shooting fest as both teams exchanged goals with the Red Foxes holding a slim two goal edge, 6 - 4 at the end of the first quarter, from then on the Red Foxes would hold the Saints scoreless in the third and fourth quarter to maintain the win.

In goalie, Kaedy Graves yanked 24 saves in both games.

The Saints hit the road looking to rebound as they travel to Villanova, Pa in a double-header with Iona at 2:30 p.m. and Villanova at 5:30 p.m.
