#17 Wagner Takes Down Water Polo

Siena Water Polo took on #17 Wagner in Staten Island, New York on Sunday. The Seahawks picked up the MAAC win 13-5 over the Saints. The Saints were eliminated from MAAC Championship contention with a win by Iona earlier on Sunday. Diana Fernandez lead Siena with two goals.

The Saints (4-24, 4-9) fell behind early as Wagner put six goals on the board in the opening eight minutes. Nichol Feldtz and Terez Touhey each scored in the opening period for Siena.

In the second half, Fernandez scored twice and Clare Bryar added one score as the Saints fell 13-5. Bryar assisted on two goals for the Saints. Fernandez, Feldtz, and Daniella Fuertes recorded one assist each in the contest.

Kennedy Joseph saved 11 shots for Siena and senior Carly Jackson-Clark added another seven saves and one steal for the defense.

The Saints return to the Siena Swim Center on Friday, April 14. Siena will take on Utica College at 4:30 p.m. and battle Connecticut College at 6 p.m.
