Water Polo Bested by Iona

Siena Water Polo battled Iona in Brooklyn Heights, New York on Saturday. The Gaels took the conference victory 14-3 over the Saints. Four Saints scored in the contest.

Siena (4-23, 4-8) took a 1-0 lead into the second period after Terez Touhey scored the game’s only goal of the opening quarter. The Gaels responded with five goals in the second, while Nichol Feldtz netted the lone score for the Saints in the stanza.

In the second half, Diana Fernandez and Clare Bryar scored one goal each for the Saints. Iona put up eight goals to take the 13-4 win. Goalie Carly Jackson-Clark saved 11 shots and added two steals for the defense.

The Saints return to the pool on Sunday, April 9 to take on #17 Wagner in Staten Island, New York.
