Saints Drop Two More MAAC Games

The Siena Water Polo team dropped two more conference game as they dropped decisions to Marist (10-3) and Villanova (13-11) to drop to 1-5 in the MAAC.  Madeline Hurley tallied 27 saves on the day.

In the first game, Siena (7-14, 1-5 MAAC) would score just three times and shoot just 14 percent as the Red Foxes (19-10, 5-1 MAAC) defeated the Saints for the 27th time in 28 chances.

Hurley tallied a career high 18 saves in the contest while also picking up three steals.  Lea Allen, Stephanie Bundas, and Rebecca Robinson were the Siena players to tally a goal. 

Siena was haunted by turnovers, being forced into 19 miscues.  Siena would not come closer than a five goal deficit, allowing six in the first period.

The Saints played in their first overtime game of the season in the nightcap, falling to Villanova 13-11.  Allen led the way for the Saints with five goals.

Siena scored three goals in the final period of regulation led by tallies from Bundas, Robinson, and Melanie Boehrig, who appeared in her first game in over two weeks returning from an injury.

Jacquelyn Verdon had two goals against the Wildcats, hitting both of her shot attempts, and dishing out two assists.

Siena fell to 5-11 in overtime games in their program history.

The Saints jump back into the pool tomorrow in a couple of rematches against VMI and Saint Francis N.Y.
