Final Results - Marist Get Acrobat Reader

After a key victory over Saint Francis Last Sunday, the Siena water polo team suffered tough loses at home Saturday, The Saints took a defeat from Iona 13-2, and dropped a 13-3 loss to Marist.

Iona jumped out and scored 13 straight through four quarters, the Saints put up two goals within the final three minutes of the game. Amy Olsen tallied up nine goals over three quarters for Iona, while Erika Lauraitis scored twice for the Gaels. Katie Stelnicki, Rebecca Koshy, Meghan Mahoney and Rebecca Matthews each had a goal in the Iona victory.

Senior Lea Allen and Sophomore Brianna Ritota each scored a goal for the Saints.

In the second game, Marist tallied up five goals in the first quarter when Senior Lea Allen tacked on one for the Saints with under a minute and half remaining. Anna-Lena Hathaway scored the first goal of the second quarter when Melanie Boehrig scored Siena’s second goal, the Red foxes would go into the half leading 8-2.

The Red Foxes commanded the 3rd quarter five goals to one; both teams were scoreless in the last eight minutes.

Hathaway had five goals on the game, Jessica Hamby tallied up four, Amanda Amorosa had two of her own and Yuriria Chaves and Alison Hamby had one each for the Red Foxes.

Lea Allen led the Saints with two goals.

Siena falls to 5-19 on the year and will face VMI and Villanova tomorrow at home starting at 9. The senior class will be honored tomorrow, prior to their last home game against Villanova at 4 p.m.
