No. 20 Hartwick scored ten of the final 11 goals of the game to break free from a 9-6 tight contest to eventually win a comfortable 19-7 senior night match in Siena Swim Center. Eleven different Hawks tallied a goal with Sasha Freeborn and Cayley Tonkin recording hat tricks.
Coming into the contest winless against nationally ranked teams in their program history, Siena (7-12) was the first team to strike just 27 seconds in the contest when Jacquelyn Verdon touched the back of the net.
After that, Hartwick (23-9) would go on a 7-0 run, not allowing a Siena goal for nearly ten minutes until Jasmine Carillo would snap the run.
That goal would ignite a 5-2 run, led by goals from Stephanie Bundas, two by Lea Allen, and another two by Verdon to complete her hat trick.
The Hawks would then go on their decisive run leading to the final 19-7 score.
Playing in her final game at Siena Swim Center, Stephani Pouder tallied all 32 minutes, stopping eight shots and swiping five steals.
Senior Rebecca Robinson, tallied a team-high three assists and picked up a steal, while classmate Cally Timm had a steal in her last home game.
Siena allowed 11, 6-on-5 opportunities for Hartwick, who were successful on six, while Siena went 2-for-4 in the same instances.
Siena has now wrapped up their non-conference schedule and will continue MAAC play when they take on Marist and Villanova in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The game is scheduled for Saturday April 6, at 10 a.m.
