The Siena Water Polo team dropped two games against Marist (10-3) and VMI (16-8) in MAAC play Saturday afternoon in New Rochelle, N.Y.

In the first game against Marist, the Saints were led by Samantha Voelker, Brianna Ritota and Melanie Boehrig. Each scoring a goal on the day. Boehrig put the Saints on the board in the third quarter and Voelker and Ritota followed up with their goals in the fourth quarter.

Madeline Hurley started in goal, recording 26 saves, breaking her own school record that she set two weeks ago against Chapman.

In the second game, the offense put some goals on the board, but couldn’t handle the VMI offense as they dropped the match 16-8.

Jacque Verdon and Stephanie Bundas each recorded a hat trick to keep the Saints within striking distance, until VMI shut the door in the second half and pulled away with the win. Brianna Ritota added two more goals to her day total after scoring in the first quarter and scored the only Saints goal in the fourth quarter.

Madeline Hurley followed her record setting performance with another double-digit save game, with 13 saves.

Siena is back in action tomorrow morning as they travel up the highway to Poughkeepsie to face Iona (10:30 a.m.) and Saint Francis (NY) (5:30 p.m.)
