Water Polo’s three game win streak came to an end late Wednesday night to the Whittier Poets 9-7. Madeline Hurley recorded a game high 13 saves and freshman Taylor Young recorded another multi-goal game.

Young is enjoying her California road trip as she now has five goals in the last three games with the Saints winning two of the three games. Young led the team with two assists for team high four points.

Stephanie Bundas continues to play well for the Saints.  A day after scoring the game winning overtime goal against Chapman, Bundas scored another two goals against Whittier.

Melanie Boehrig and Jacque Verdon scored the remaining three goals as Boehrig recorded two and Verdon one goal. Boehrig also recorded a steal on the day.

Jasmine Carrillo and Brianna Ritota led the team on the defensive end, each tallying two steals and Ritota earned one ejection-drawn.

Madeline Hurley, Siena’s last line of defense, recorded 13 saves against Whittier, a day after setting the Siena school record for the most saves in a game against Chapman with 25 saves. Hurley also had a team high in steals with six.

Water Polo leaves California with a 3-2 record and travels to Ann Arbor, Mich. For the Wolverine Invitational this weekend, March 15-16.
