Siena Women's Water Polo Completes Five Game Sweep at PSU Behrend Invite

Loudonville, N.Y. - Senior attacker Anne LaFex (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) exploded for seven goals to send the Saints past Penn. State Behrend 13-2 this afternoon. With the victory, the Saints complete a five game sweep at the PSU Behrend Invitational.

"Our team speed was really the difference in this one," said head coach Rob Swingle. "After some initial feeling out of each other, we really got our counter attack going to extend the lead."

The Saints jumped out to a 9-0 lead at intermission, and then cruised through the second half outscoring PSU Brehend 4-2 in the final two quarters. Siena received scoring from five different players on the afternoon. LaFex recorded a game-high seven goals, while Lauren Garrigan (Kailua, Hawaii/Kamehameha) and Christina Allison (Chula Vista, Calif./Otay Ranch) notched two apiece.

With the win, the Saints now carry a five game winning streak into their home-opener next Sunday versus Utica. Game time is set for 1 p.m. Siena stands 10-4 overall on the season.
