Saints Drop First Contest of the Season

The Siena College water polo team dropped their first contest of the season, 14-8, to Marist College at the McCann Center Natatorium in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on Saturday. The Saints are now 0-1 on the season, with a matching MAAC record.

The scoring was faced paced in the first quarter as both teams were tied 4-4. Marist then added another goal in the second quarter, before breaking out in the second half with nine goals to earn thier first win of the season.

Erica Strein led Siena with five goals, while Shanna Allen scored twice and Kelly Collins added one.

Marist was led by Alyson Fiorillo, who had five goals and the two-goal efforts of Joelle Evanousky, Ashley Woerner and Jennifer Meyer.
