Samantha Pethokoukis inked a National Letter of Intent with Siena volleyball during the recently completed early signing period. Pethokoukis had a standout scholastic career at Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Ill.
"We're thrilled to have Samantha join our program," Head Coach Garvey Pierre said. "She has tremendous talent and comes from a great volleyball family. Her older sister Gabby plays volleyball at Villanova. I know she will be a great addition our program, and most important, a valuable member of the Siena community."
Pethokoukis is coming off a stellar senior season at Fenwick where she was team captain and MVP. The Suburban Life 2013 Cook County All-Area team pick was selected to play in the 2013 Illinois High School Girls Volleyball All-Star Game by SportstownChicago .com and was named one of the top-50 volleyball players in Illinois by the Chicago Sun Times. An excellent student, Pethokoukis earned Academic First Honors as well.
Pethokoukis played varsity volleyball for three years at Fenwick, and her club team - Michio Chicago Volleyball Academy finished sixth in the country at the USAV and won the junior National Championship in Dallas.
Pethokoukis joined a Siena team that went 14-14 in 2013 and tied for third with a 13-5 record in the MAAC.
