Saints in the Title Game

Siena will be playing in their ninth MAAC final, already holding a perfect 8-0 record in previous seasons.  Six of those wins have come at the expense of Fairfield including a five-set win at Alumni Hall in 2007, a match that lasted two hours and 40 minutes.

As the Number Two Seed

Five of Siena's eight MAAC Championships have come when the Saints were seeded second in the tournament.  Siena was the No. 2 seed in three of its four MAAC Championships under Garvey Pierre (2005, 2006, and 2008) and is a perfect 12-0 in MAAC tournament play as the No. 2 seed.

MAAC Tournament at Alumni Hall

The MAAC tournament returns to Fairfield for the first time since 2007.  Siena won the title in five-sets against the host Stags, to win their seventh title.  The Saints have won more crowns than any other MAAC school with eight, including four straight from 2005-2008.

Scouting the Stags

Fairfield enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed, for the first time since 2009.  The Stags are led by first team all-MAAC selection Brianna Dixion.  The senior leads the team in kills per set.  Fairfield is also helped by two-time setter of the year Rachel Romansky who leads the MAAC in assists.  Fairfield currently checks in fifth in the nation in digs per set, led by libero Kara Reis, who is the program all-time leader in digs.

The Series with the Stags

One of the biggest rivalry in MAAC Volleyball, the Saints and the Stags have met six times in the MAAC title game, with Siena winning all those contests.  The two squads met every year during Siena's championship run from 2005-2008, with Siena winning in five sets the first three years before sweeping the Stags in 2008.  The two teams split the season series this year and are 6-6 against each other in the postseason.
