Freshman outside hitter Aubrey Bobo was named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week Monday after leading the Saints to wins over Saint Peter's and Manhattan this weekend. Bobo is the first freshman to win the weekly award this season.
Bobo averaged six kills per game in a pair of road MAAC wins for the streaking Saints. She had a season-high 24 kills in Siena's 3-1 win at Saint Peter's and followed that effort up with an 18-kill effort in the Saints sweep of Manhattan Sunday. Bobo added 10 digs against the Peahens to round out the fourth double-double of her promising career. She averaged 2.6 digs per game in the two matches, as the Saints improved their MAAC record to 10-0 with their 14th straight win.
Bobo missed several games earlier in the year after injuring her bicep. She returned in a limited role two weeks ago, and this past weekend saw her most significant time since the injury. Bobo was named MAAC Rookie of the Week September 4.
The 14-3 Saints return to action this weekend with three home games at Times Union Center beginning with Friday night's showdown with Rider at 6 p.m.
