The Siena volleyball team was playing without its top two offensive players Friday night, and Cornell took advantage. The Big Red turned back an early 1-0 deficit to win the next three sets in a 3-1 (19-25, 25-23, 25-23 and 25-19) victory over the stubborn Saints in the opening match of the Cornell Invitational Friday night in Ithaca. The good news for Siena volleyball is that highly touted freshman Taylor Akana is already living up to the hype. The bad news is that it hasn't yet translated into a win. Akana posted 12 kills and seven digs, but the Saints succumbed to another tough foe Saturday, falling to Pacific in straight sets (25-12, 25-16, 25-15) on the final day of the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station, Texas.
