Taylor Akana led Siena to a 3-1 (25-17, 25-19, 22-25 and 25-23) win at Marist Saturday afternoon, killing 20 of her 46 attacks and adding 11 digs. The Saints have won eight of their last nine matches, and are now 12-4 in MAAC play.

For the sixth consecutive match, Siena jumped out to a 2-0 lead, downing the Red Foxes 25-17 and 25-19 to take command of the match. Marist bounced back to win the third set 25-22, but Siena pulled out a 25-23 win in the fourth set to seal the win.

The fourth set was tied at 23-23 before Akana and Jasmine Brown picked up a key block, and Rachel Stoklosa finished the match with a kill on the next point.

Sarah Sivertson contributed 53 assists and four aces, and distributed the ball evenly as she has all season.

Stoklosa complemented Akana with 12 kills and nine digs on the outside, while Meghann Wright had a huge match with 11 kills and 12 digs on the opposite side. Colleen Ahearn added nine kills in the middle, and freshman Christina Monroe killed half of her eight swings in a spot start.

Lesli Akeo anchored the defense with 21 digs.

Katie Estes topped Marist with 12 kills, and Brooke Zywick contributed 20 digs.

Siena has a week off before traveling to face Rider and Loyola next weekend.
