Glorimar Ortega and Allison Beard combined for 30 kills leading Binghamton (8-17) back from a 2-0 deficit to earn a 3-2 victory over Siena (7-17) in a non-conference volleyball game played in Loudonville Sunday afternoon. Lauren Weber and Jennifer Corkum led the Saints with 17 and 14 kills respectively.
The Saints jumped to their early lead by taking the first two games by identical 30-27 scores. Siena held big leads in each, but was forced to hold on late for the victories. In the third game, the Saints game up a 10-3 lead and a match point before suffering the 32-30 setback. The Bearcats dominated the fourth game 30-20 and rallied from a 10-7 deficit to take the decisive fifth, 15-11.
Aside from Ortega and Beard, Jennifer Smith collected 12 kills and a team-high 17 digs for the victors.
Freshman Christa Gregg registered 11 kills and sophomore Diana Wierzba notched 17 digs for the Saints.
