Head coach Garvey Pierre featured 11 players prominently as Siena swept Quinnipiac 3-0 at home Wednesday to improve to 13-11 on the year. Setter April London killed six of her seven attacks, posted 29 assists and collected eight digs to lead the Saints.
Siena coasted in a 25-17 win in the first set, won the second 25-14 and rallied late for a 25-23 win in the third.
Six players had five or more kills for Siena. Kelly Hummel, Kau'i Robello and Burgandy McCurty each had eight. Robello tied for the team lead in digs with Brianne Bobo. Both players finished with 12. Robello and Bobo each had two of Siena's seven aces as well.
Stephanie Biediger led all players with 12 kills and 16 digs for the visiting Bobcats. Jenna Benigno had eight kills and Kelby Carey had six in a losing effort.
Pierre took advantage of the break from league play to give several reserves additional playing time. McCurty sat the entire second set and Robello did not play until late in the third after dominating the first two. In their place, Brittany Lintelman posted five kills in 12 attacks, Amanda Begin had four kills and Blair Atkins added two.
Emily Kruglik started in the middle and finished with five kills in 10 attempts.
Siena has won five of its last six matches, and concludes its six-match homestand this weekend against Rider and Loyola.
