The Iona College Volleyball team defeated MAAC rival Siena College, 3-1, in their first conference game of the season. The Gaels improve to 12-9 overall and 1-0 in MAAC play. Siena falls 3-13 and 0-2 in conference play.

Iona dropped an evenly played first game that saw both teams jockeying for the lead, 31-29. In the next three games, the Gaels used a fast start to defeat the Saints.

The Gaels were led by freshman Megan Dailey (San Diego, CA) who recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs. Sophomore Colleen Walker (San Diego, CA) registered a team-high 18 kills followed by sophomore Miki Hogg's (Sun Prairie, WI) 15 kills for a .429 hitting percentage.

Defensively, junior Ana Brzova (Skopke, Macedonia) lead the team with 15 digs. Freshman Shelby Erb (Sarasota, FL) chipped in 10 digs of her own.

Iona registered 16 total team blocks. Junior Amy Nolan (Brockton, MA) led the team with eight blocks to go along with her career-high nine kills.
