Siena Volleyball dropped a midweek contest to league foe Quinnipiac 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-16). The Saints fell to the Bobcats in both matches during the 2016 season.
Natalie Alecho, Elizabeth Kloos and Kat Miller all recorded 10 kills for Quinnipiac (5-13, 4-1 MAAC). Maria Pansari tallied 31 assists for the Bobcats.
Quinnipiac jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead in the first set. Siena was forced to call a timeout with the Bobcats ahead 12-3. The Saints began their comeback using a 6-0 run to trail just 21-19. However, the Bobcats could not be stopped and took the first set 25-21.
The league foes came to battle in the second set. Quinnipiac held onto the lead but would not run away with the set. The Green and Gold trailed by just one, 24-23, but Cuervo notched the final kill to put the Bobcats up 2-0 in the match.
Coming out of the intermission, Quinnipiac jumped out quickly to a 10-5 lead in the final stanza. Holding onto a 17-10 lead, the Bobcats forced the Saints to use a timeout. Quinnipiac was up 21-15 before going on a 3-0 run for a 24-15 lead. Siena took one point before the Bobcats clinched the victory 25-16.
Siena returns back to the Capital Region to host MAAC opponent Iona on Saturday, September 30. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
