Lauren Weber led a balanced Siena attack with 12 kills and 13 digs as Siena (2-10) snapped a five-match losing streak with a convincing 30-20, 30-18 and 30-27 triumph at Quinnipiac Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Liz Hubbard tallied 10 kills and Christie Gustafson recorded eight to go along with her 14 digs in the winning effort.
The Saints stormed out to a 1-0 lead with an easy 30-20 triumph in the first game. Freshman setter Katie Borrett had 15 of her game-high 40 assists in the first game. Borrett also killed four of eight attacks and amassed six digs. Siena cruised to a 30-18 win in the second game and held on for a 30-27 victory in the third to complete the three-game sweep.
While Weber led the way in total kills, sophomore Amy Christensen was the most economical, killing nine of her 11 attempts. Classmate Christa Glenn killed four of her 10 swings to help the cause.
Kalyn Hundley had nine kills and eight digs to lead the way for Quinnipiac (2-8).
Siena begins MAAC play against Marist on Wednesday evening against Marist.
