Briana Flagg had 17 kills and Haley Howell dished out 38 assists in Siena’s 3-0 (25-15, 25-21 and 25-15) sweep at Saint Peter’s Saturday afternoon. The Saints improve to 3-0 in the MAAC with a road match at upstart Rider Sunday.

It was the 22nd straight win for Siena in the series dating back to a 3-0 Saint Peter’s win on November 6, 2004, Garvey Pierre’s first year at the College. 17 of those victories have come in straight sets.

Siena hit .248 for the match, led by Flagg’s .314 attack percentage on the outside. Freshman Annie Stock returned to the rotation, and finished nine of her 20 swings, providing a second threat on the outside.

Siena libero Kalehua Katagiri led all players with 18 digs. Howell (11 digs) and Flagg (10 digs) finished with double doubles in the three set win.

The Saints dominated the match statistically, controlling a 45-22 edge in kills, a 54-33 advantage in digs and an 8-5 margin in aces.

The Peacocks best effort came in the second set. The score was tied at 21-21 before Howell served Siena to four straight points to give Siena a commanding 2-0 lead at intermission.

Lauren Behrens led Saint Peter’s with eight kills and two blocks.
