HACKENSACK, NJ - The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's volleyball team defeated Siena in its first three-game win of the season at the Rothman Center in Hackensack, NJ, on Wednesday evening. Fairleigh Dickinson improves its overall record to 3-13, while Siena drops to 1-10.
The Knights came out strong, defeating the Saints 30-22 in the first game, 30-27 in the second and 30-24 in the third. Senior Sharon Becker (Dumont, NJ) led the team with 13 kills and 14 digs and senior Kristin Risberg (Port Jefferson, NY) added 11 kills. Sophomore Michelle Feiser (Smithsburg, MD) earned 23 assists and three service aces, along with 10 digs. Sophomore Keri Rowlands (Orlando, FL) tallied 17 assists and five digs.
For Siena, freshman Christie Gustafson (Rochester, NY) collected 11 kills and 14 digs. Sophomore Amy Christensen (Suffern,NY) added nine kills and four digs and the defense for the Saints was led by sophomore Liz Hubbard (Newark, DE) with six blocks.
