GENERAL: Very hard working player who has transitioned from the middle to the right side...Possesses great size and work ethic and a powerful swing...Has worked hard to improve footwork...Excellent defensive player and imposing force at the net...Missed majority of 2010 season due to injury.
2011: Battled through injury to play in 17 matches and 37 sets...Tallied 32 kills, 29 sigs and 14 blocks...Killed five of 10 attacks in two sets played against Hofstra (8/29)...Had season-high six kills and added an ace and two blocks in five-set loss at Loyola (9/17).
2010: Appeared in just two matches early in the year before suffering season-ending injury.
2009: Played in all 28 matches making 15 starts...Posted 118 kills in 96 sets played (1.23 kills/set)...Led team with 92 blocks (.92 blocks per set)....Marquee effort came in 3-0 win over Manhattan when she finished with 11 kills in just 15 attacks (.667) and five blocks...Had at least six kills in five of the last six matches...Had at least two blocks in 23 of 28 matches and in final 16 matches of the season...Posted an attack percentage of .500 or better in four of last six matches.
BEFORE SIENA: Four-year letterwinner... Named to 2007, 2008 All-Division Teams...Also played basketball in High School, was a two-time All-Division player and was named to the All District and All-County teams in the 2008 and 2009 season...Lettered in basketball at Wilson and played soccer while growing up.
PERSONAL/COMMUNITY: Daughter of Steven and Kathy Swalsville...Has two older sisters: Kimberly attended Washington and Jefferson and Kristine is an All-League softball pitcher at Monmouth...A psychology major...Active member of local community, volunteered at Blue Marsh Lake cleaning trails and disposing of garbage.
COACH PIERRE SAYS: "Amanda has really improved her game a lot. She has battled through injury throughout her career, but now she is playing at a high level, and she does not want to spend her senior year on the bench. I'm excited to see the improvement in her game, and I think she can help us compete for a championship."

What I like most about Siena volleyball: Everyone on the team has the desire to win, and we all push each other to get better.
My best Siena volleyball moment has been: Going to Disney World, or beating Niagara in 3 on their home court and becoming the only team to beat them in conference play.
What I like most about Coach Pierre: His laid back personality off the court, but the toughness and the desire to win when we are on the court.

My superstitions are: I always have to straighten my hair before games
If I didn't play volleyball, I would: Play basketball
The player on the team who I relate to best is: Sarah, because she gets my sarcasm and laughs at my jokes!
One thing people would be surprised to know about me: (Women's basketball's) Lily Grenci and I are excellent cheerleaders

If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would go to: Brazil
My biggest fear is: Heights, sharks and snakes
