Seniors Cassandra Braz and Jessica Macaluso will serve as captains for the 2014-15 Siena women's tennis team. Head coach Andy Christodoulou made the announcement today.

"These two are the perfect duo to lead the team," Christodoulou said. "Our captains have exhibited the highest levels of character, work ethic and vocal leadership. Cassie and Jessica always work hard and demand the same from their teammates. There is no doubt they will lead this team to success and they will lead us by example. They understand leadership comes with responsibilities and pure dedication to the team goals and objectives."

Braz has been a regular in the singles rotation since her arrival and played No. 4, 5 and 6 singles as a junior last season. It was recently announced that she will also serve as a SAAC representative this season.

"I am honored to be named a captain and considered as a leader on the team," Braz said. "My experiences in the last three years on this team and at Siena have been nothing short of memorable. I am looking forward to working with Jess and following the footsteps of our past captains to lead this team through a strong season along with creating unforgettable memories. The team has come closer and closer to making the MAAC Championships every year and this is still our ultimate goal on the court. These ladies are dedicated to the sport and with our collective efforts we are well on our way to a great season."

Jessica Macaluso

Macaluso played in all 22 matches as a junior and racked up a 4-4 record in MAAC action. Like Braz, she was recently selected to serve as the team's SAAC representative this year as well.

"It is an honor and a privilege to be selected captain of the Siena women's tennis team for the 2014-2015 season," Macaluso said. "I believe leadership is extremely important to any team's success and it is something which needs to come from the seniors. I am looking forward to leading our team to a MAAC Championship this coming season and capping off a great four year experience here at Siena."
