Eight Siena tennis players were selected to the 2012 MAAC Tennis All-Academic Team released Friday night at the pre-Championship Awards Banquet in Mercer County, N.J.

On the men's side, Peter Collins (Delmar, N.Y.), Joseph Holm (Glenville, N.Y.) and Vik Kadaba (Rexford, N.Y.) were honored. Collins, a sophomore, emerged as Siena's ace this year on the court. Off the court, he boasts a 3.86 GPA as an accounting major. Holm is also in his second year with the program, and he carries a near-perfect 3.95 GPA in finance. Kadaba just finished his junior season and was a key contributor on the court. In the classroom, Kadaba holds a 3.21 GPA in Siena's challenging biology program.

Four of the five Siena women selected came from the team's senior class, led by star Jasleen Sandhu (Latham, N.Y.). Sandhu capped off a stellar career as the team's number one for a third straight season. In the classroom, Sandhu registered a 3.92 GPA in economics. Classmates Nicole Ross (Latham, N.Y., 3.51, mathematics), Jen Galante (Newington, Conn., 3.49, English) and Kellie Scullin (Liverpool, N.Y., 3.28, history) also were named to the squad, as was junior Brittany Filip (Vestal, N.Y., 3.28, psychology).

The MAAC All-Academic Team consists of student athletes who have completed at least two semesters at their institution, and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
