Women's Tennis Visits Regional Food Bank
Feb. 8, 2010
On Friday, February 5, the Siena Women's Tennis team helped out at the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York in Latham. They assisted in sorting through frozen pizzas and packing up food for needy families that the Food Bank provides for. The team had previously helped out at the Ronald McDonald House serving meals to the families staying there. One of the main objectives of the Siena Athletic Department has always been to remain actively involved in the Capital Region community through its Saints in the Community program. The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York has been serving the underprivileged since 1982. The Food Bank works with food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, and residency programs that serve the elderly and disabled in 23 counties throughout New York, stretching from the Canadian border to Rockland and Putnam counties, and east from the Massachusetts, Vermont and Connecticut borders to Fulton, Otsego and Delaware counties.
