Here's our conversation with women's tennis freshman Alyssa Singh, who recently completed her first semester at Siena:

Q: What's been your most embarrassing moment at Siena College?
A:Having to go to practice dressed up on Halloween

Q: What is your favorite thing about playing tennis at Siena?
A: Being part of an amazing team

Q: Are there any weird traditions that the tennis team has?
A: Definitely sitting at dinner for hours every night at Massry

Q: What have you had to get used to most since coming to Siena?
A: The cold weather

Q: What was the transition to college life like?
A: The first few weeks at school were exciting, making new friends and having our first team practices. It was an easy adjustment.

Q: What have you learned about yourself since you became a student at Siena College?
A: That I can take on a lot more than I ever thought I could

Q: What is a typical day like for you at Siena?
A: Breakfast at Saga, then class, and maybe weight room in between classes, lunch at saga, more class, practice, dinner at New Hall, then studying some place.

Q: What has been the biggest adjustment from high school to college tennis?
A: I never played high school tennis, so being a part of team was definitely something new to me.

Q: Please use three words to describe Siena College?
A: Community, welcoming, fun.

Q: What is your favorite class at Siena?
A: So far I would have to say my Philosophy 101 class. The class was interesting and the professor was really awesome.

Q: How do you kill time while in Loudonville?
A: Hanging out in other people's room or napping

Q: If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
A: I think I would be a chinchilla because they're awesome.

Q: List five things you would need to survive, if left alone on a deserted island?
A: Food and water (of course), wifi, my computer, and a companion.

Q: Which is your favorite tourist spot?
A: NYC

Q: Which is your favorite spot on campus?
A: Massry

 

 

Q: Where do you see yourself in another five years?
A: Hopefully with a degree in computer science working for a computer or software company

Q: Did you always think you would play tennis? What other sports did you play?
A: I didn't know I would always play tennis. I played soccer and tennis at the same time for a while and wasn't sure where either of them would take me, but tennis has gotten me this far and I'm happy I stuck with it.

Q: What is something that Siena Saints fans should know about your style of play?
A: I like to pick at the opponent's weakness, nonstop.

Q: What is that one thing, you can't do without?
A: My computer

Q: If you could have dinner with four people (alive or dead) they would be...
A: President Obama, Beyonce, James Franco, Kanye West

Q: If you could change one thing on planet earth what would it be?
A: Reasonably warm weather, all the time.

Q: What do you miss most about Arizona?
A: The sun

Q: Why are you majoring in Computer Science?
A: I have some CS majors in my family and I know the major has a good job field

Q: Who is your tennis idol?
A: Kim Clijsters

Q: Do you have any role models?
A: My parents
