Quinnipiac Fights Past Siena 6-1 in Women's Tennis Action

Sarah Mayer posted an impressive 6-2 and 6-4 win at top singles, but that was the only point Siena managed in a road loss at regional power Quinnipiac Tuesday afternoon. Mayer defeated Quinnipiac's #1 Mary Wilson.

The match began with Quinnipiac sweeping the doubles for a 1-0 lead. Amanda Petruzzi and Jackie Herb started things off with a 8-0 win at #2 doubles. Wilson and Adrienne Markison later defeated Mayer and Lauren Moy 8-2 at top doubles.

Quinnipiac won the other five singles competitions in straight sets.

The Saints travel to Norfolk Virginia this week to play in the ITA East Regional Championships at Old Dominion University. Play begins Friday, October 19th.
