Women’s Tennis Takes Down Rider

Siena Women’s Tennis left off right where they left off in dual meets and took down MAAC foe Rider 7-0 in Schenectady. The Saints swept the Broncs last season.

The women started off strong by taking all three doubles courts to start the match with a 1-0 lead. Freshman Kylie Mullaney and Anessa Leyva won 6-1 on court one. Juliana Goehner and Ivana Boberic on court two and Ann Phillips and Julia Dunbar on court three took down Rider 6-2.

Three Saints won 6-0, 6-0 against the Broncs in singles, while all six singles were won in straight sets. Leyva, Rina Sakai and Natalie Weaver were the three Saints with 6-0, 6-0 victories. Weaver, who played on court two in singles, clinched the victory for Siena with her straight set wins.

The Saints will travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to play in the ITA Regionals on Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21.
