The Siena women's tennis team won its first match of the season Saturday, topping Wagner 6-1 on the road. The Saints won five of six singles matches and swept doubles play.

"Our team deserves the credit for today's win," head coach Andy Christodoulou said. "The ladies were ready, and definitely had more `get up and go' today. Elora's (Benfer) injury is unfortunate and we will take her to see sports medicine as soon as we get home. The score is not indicative of how tough it was."

Benfer was forced to retire at No. 5 singles, resulting in the only point for the Seahawks.

Carly Holloway, Jessica Macaluso, Brittany Filip, Cassie Braz and Erika Reagan each won their singles competitions.
