Freshmen Maria Varano and Allysa Singh stayed hot, but the Siena women's tennis team fell 5-2 to Saint Francis (Pa.) on Senior Day Sunday in Schenectady. Seniors Brittany Filip and Elora Benfer were honored in a special pre-match ceremony.

"I'm very proud of the team and the way they played today," junior Carly Holloway said. "St. Francis was a tough team, and this match should have us well prepared for Marist on Thursday."

Varano went three sets with Lucy Jasso before winning in a super-tiebreaker 10-6. Singh coasted in straight sets at No. 4 singles, winning 6-2 and 6-0.

Saint Francis won the other four singles matches, including Camila Diaz' three-set win over Cassandra Braz at No. 6 singles. The Red Flash also swept double play to claim the doubles point.
