The Siena women's tennis team won the second match of its Spring Break tour Tuesday, blanking Davis & Elkins 7-0 at Van der Meer Academy on Hilton Head, S.C.

"The windy conditions and bright sunshine created difficult playing conditions for both teams," Siena coach Andy Christodoulou said. "We kept our concentration by ignoring the elements and playing solid tennis. Again, we had to manage our injuries and give rest to the students who needed it which reduced our effectiveness."

Siena won all six singles matches, led by Carly Holloway's 6-3 and 6-4 score over Julia Hoehn at top singles. Maria Varano, Jessica Macaluso and Cassandra Braz each won in straight sets as well.

The Saints took two of three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. Varano teamed with Erika Reagan for an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles and Brittany Filip and Elora Benfer won at No. 3 doubles.

Siena closes its Spring Break trip Thursday with a 10 a.m. match against Savannah State.
