Women’s Tennis Defeats Sacred Heart

Siena Women’s Tennis extends their win streak to three-straight with a 6-1 victory over Sacred Heart on Saturday evening at Yale Tennis Courts. Ivana Boberic clinched the Saints victory at singles one.

Sacred Heart took a 6-0 victory at doubles one quickly, but Natalie Weaver and Nanea Perkins at doubles two won 6-2 to leave it all up to doubles court three. Ann Phillips and Boberic defeated the Pioneers 6-1 to clinch the doubles point and put Siena up 1-0 heading into singles play.

Perkins quickly won at singles four in straight sets 6-2, 6-0. She was followed closely by Weaver who won her third straight at singles three with a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Boberic won 6-4, 6-1 at singles one to clinch the Saints victory putting Siena up 4-0. Both Rina Sakai and Kylie Mullaney came away with win in singles. The Saints only dropped six singles in a 10-8 tiebreaker.

The Saints host Bryant on Saturday, February 17 at TriCity in Latham, New York at 4 p.m.
