Tim O'Brien begins his sixth season as head women's tennis coach at Siena. Tim has over 38 years of experience coaching at both the high school and college level. A `69 graduate of Canisius College, he served in United States Army from 69-72. He has a master's degree in education from University at Albany and retired from a 30-year teaching career in 2002.

O'Brien played four years of varsity hockey and tennis at Catholic Central HS in Troy, NY and four years of varsity tennis at Canisius. O'Brien's coaching career began in 1975, when he began a six-year stint as the head tennis pro at Troy Country Club. In `76, he began his collegiate coaching career as the men's tennis coach at RPI in Troy. He is an active member of both the USPTR and the ITA. O'Brien serves on the Program Committee of 15-LOVE. His 2006 team won the MAAC Championship and participated in the NCAA Division I Championship. In 2006 Coach OBrien was named both MAAC Coach-of-the-Year and Siena's Coach-of-the-Year.

Tim resides in Schenectady with his wife, Karen, who is an RN at Kingsway Nursing Home. They have four adult children and six grandchildren, Patrick & Brian Doherty, Kate & Paige Davenport, Abigail & Grady Nautel.
