GENERAL: A very strong hitter who is not afraid to go for her shots and has a great technique from both sides... Very comfortable moving up to the net, and an extremely tough competitor...A player who can really make things happen on the court...Her doubles skills will make her transition to the college game a lot easier, and her personality makes her a great teammate...Recipient of the USTA NEOTA Sportsmanship Award as a senior at Mayfield. BEFORE SIENA: Fukamachi ranked No. 20 in the state of Ohio's USTA (U-18 rankings) as of November 16, 2012...She reached as high as No. 99 in the Midwest USTA in singles rankings, and No. 3 in doubles in Northeast Ohio...Fukamachi is a four-time Ohio State High School Tournament doubles qualifier, and she captured the 2012 North Ohio Conference (NOC) Championship in First Doubles...Over her scholastic career, she was named NOC All Conference in First Singles, Second Singles and First Doubles...Her team captured the doubles sectional championship in 2009 and 2010...Fukamachi was the varsity team captain during her senior year, and received the athlete scholar award all four years. PERSONAL:Fukamachi is a Siena College Presidential Scholar who plans to major in medical sciences. She is the daughter of Kiyotaka and Kiyomi Fukamachi and has two siblings, a younger brother, Shouta, and older sister, Minami.
