A native of Piestany, Slovak Republic, Hluchova grew-up in Slovakia, but moved to Glendale, Queens with her aunt and uncle during her teenage years.
Before arriving at Siena she was a top performer on the tennis courts for St. Francis Prep, playing a key role for the 2001 team that won the New York City Mayor's Cup Team Trophy. Other tennis achievements include leading the New York City team to the Gold Medal at the 2001 Empire State Games, while also earning an individual Gold as the only tennis player to complete the games undefeated.
