Bjornber will be honored on Senior Day on Jan. 19

Dec. 11, 2012

For the second time this season, senior Kaela Bjornberg has been named the MAAC Swimmer of the Week.

Bjornberg helped the Saints to their ninth straight victory over Sacred Heart; winning a season-high three individual events and one relay. The senior won the 100 breast clocking in at 1:10.34 and the 200 breast in 2:30.67.  Bjornberg also finished first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:16.68, four seconds faster than any other swimmer. The three individual wins put her career total to 35 individual victories. Also, she was a member of the winning 200 medley relay with her team finishing with a total time of 1:53.66.

Bjornberg will have more reason to celebrate when Siena returns to action on Jan. 19, when the Saints will welcome C.W. Post at 1 P.M.  Before the meet, she will be recognized as the lone member of the Class of 2013 during the Senior Day ceremonies.

The squad currently has more than a month off from competition due to the holiday break, some of which the team will travel to Florida for their annual training trip.
