LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena was picked to finish fifth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Preseason Poll. Last winter, the program finished 5th in the MAAC Championship.

Head Coach Paul Kueterman said, "I mean it's where we finished last year. I think the goal is always to improve you know we'd love to get in the top four. If we get some relays in there and some more competitors in the top eight, I think that will help us get to that goal of top four."

Defending MAAC champion Marist was selected unanimously to repeat as MAAC champions in 2017. Siena was selected to finish 5th with 61 points, just six points shy of fourth place Iona. The Saints have finished 5th in the MAAC Championship for the past three seasons.

Siena begins their season Saturday, Oct. 8th at Assumption. In the past three meetings with the Greyhounds, the Saints have come out on top twice.

Siena returns 14 members of last year's team as they enter the season as the reigning ECAC Champions. The Saints defend their ECAC title from Dec. 2nd to Dec. 4th in East Meadow, New York.

The Saints will compete in 11 meets before the MAAC Championships, including four in Loudonville. Siena will face Holy Cross (Oct.19), Vermont (Oct.29), Merrimack (Nov.12), and LIU Post (Jan. 14) at the Siena Swim Center.
