The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference swimming championships will be held Feb. 17-19 at Erie Community College in Buffalo and Siena junior diver Elizabeth Rice is ready to challenge for top honors in the meet.

Rice, from Gansevoort (Saratoga Springs High), has been an outstanding diver for the Saints this season. In the one-meter dive, she's posted six victories and a second in eight meets and in the 3-meter dive, she's a perfect 8-0. Her personal bests this season are 249.36 points (1-meter) and 360.30 (3-meter). The 1-meter effort broke the Canisius pool record. She's ranked first in the league in the 1-meter and second in the 3-meter.

Rice should improve her 10th-place finish in both dives at last year's MAAC Championships. She finished third in the 3-meter as a freshman.

Senior Lauren Maxwell of Schenectady (Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons) is also a member of the team. She's 12th on the MAAC list in the 200 breaststroke and tied for 16th in the 100 breaststroke. She also competes in the 200 and 400 individual medley.
