LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Siena Swimming and Diving program was recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar All-America team for the fall 2017 semester. The CSCAA recognizes teams with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 or higher each semester.
The Saints hold an impressive 3.46 cumulative team GPA following the fall semester. Siena has earned Scholar All-America honor in 12 straight seasons dating back to the fall of 2011. The recognition is announced twice each year following the spring and fall semesters.
This past semester, fall 2017, a record-setting 688 teams earned the distinction of Scholar All-America at a total of 430 institutions from across all NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA Divisions. Seven of 11 MAAC schools received the honor, with just Iona (3.65) and Rider (3.5) holding a higher cumulative team GPA.
The Saints will return to the pool on Wednesday, February 14 for the MAAC Championship in Buffalo, New York. Siena finished seventh last season at the Championship.
