Theresa Cotter and Hailey Beers have been named the MAAC Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively. The duo led Siena to a pair to a 1-1 record last week, the win coming over MAAC foe Fairfield, while their loss came at the hands of Saint Francis (Pa.).

Cotter has been impressive in her first season with the Saints. In Siena's two meets this past week, the Clarksville, Md. native recorded three individual wins, all in backstroke events. In the win over Fairfield, she took the 200 Back in a time of 2:09.63, while in the meet against Saint Francis (Pa.), she recorded wins in the 100 and 200 Back. The three wins add to an already impressive resume for the freshman, who has registered nine individual victories this season. In addition to being named the MAAC Swimmer of the Week, Cotter was also named the conference's women's swimmer of the week as announced by CollegeSwimming.com. She becomes the second member of the Siena team to achieve the honor this season (Emily Carideo, 11/11).

Beers garners Diver of the Week honors for the ninth time in her career, including five times this season. The senior from Brockport, N.Y. dominated the diving events in both of Siena meets, recording four first place finishes. She took the one meter dive with a score of 240.00 and then was strong once again in the three meter dive with a six-round score of 237.60 in the win over Fairfield. She continued her strong performance in the meet against Saint Francis (Pa.) where she scored a 244.30 in the 1-Meter Dive and then set a Siena Swim Center pool record in the three meter dive, tallying a score of 279.85. She broke her own pool record, one of which she set just last season (271.15).

Beers, Cotter and the Saints will now prepare for the MAAC Championships, which are set to begin February 10 at Erie Community College in Buffalo, N.Y.
