Siena Swimming dropped to eleventh place today the ECAC Championships, totaling 175 points. Wagner College leads the women's competition with 873 points ahead of tomorrow's final day of competition.
Saints started off the second day with the morning session of the championships. The first event of the day being the 500 yd freestyle where junior Emma Rupert finished in fifteenth place (5:11.91).
Rupert would later score a point for Siena in the 200 yd IM for the Saints taking 24th place with a time of 2:12.44.
Siena would come up big in the final event of the morning, 200 yd freestyle relay, coming in 9th place to pick up 40 points with the team made up of junior Francesca Tinucci, sophomore Katelyn Ludwicki, senior Brigid Wynne, and sophomore Rachel Brown (1:39.89).
To start the evening session was the 400 yd IM where Rupert started off for the Saints coming in 16th (4:42.76). Followed by freshman Sydney Lautenslager in 21st (4:46.21), sophomore Carrie Bonvissuto in 23rd (4:46.84), and senior Fiona Dretzka in 24th (4:47.98).
Junior Elizabeth Fournier placed 13th in the 100 yd butterfly (58.69), giving Siena 14 points.
In the 200 yd freestyle Brown (21, 1:57.63), Fournier (23, 1:58.80), and Tinucci (24, 1:58.89) picked up seven more points for the Saints.
Dretzka placed 10th in the 100yd backstroke with a time of 59.75 to help give Siena 17 points.
To end the day was the 400 yd medley relay where the team consisting of Dretzka, freshman Kylie George, Fournier, and Tinucci came in 10th (4:05.68) to rack up 34 points to end the day.
Siena wrapped up the day in eleventh place with 265 points. The ECAC Championships will conclude on Sunday, December 3, with the first race set for 10 a.m. in East Meadow, NY.
