The Siena swim team defeated Niagara, Canisius, and Fairfield in a quad dual-meet this afternoon in Loudonville. The Saints were led by the strong swimming of sophomore Kristine Robinson, who placed first in the 500 and 1650-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly in times of 5:23.88, 18:29.40, and 1:02.21, respectively. Freshman Ashley Serrago placed first in both the 50-yard (24.79) and 100-yard freestyle (54.33).
Siena cruised to victories over Canisius and Niagara by scores of 79-32 and 68-36. The Saints took first place in each of the first eleven events against Canisius and Niagara. In the closest match-up of the day, Siena edged out Fairfield 59-54. The meet was in limbo when the swimming portion was completed as Siena held a narrow 51-44 lead over the Stags. The swimmers patiently awaited for the arrival of the diving results as the diving portion of the meet took place at RPI. Siena's Jessica Shahda placed first in the 1-meter diving with a score of 206.40 and second in the 3-meter with a score of 171.55. She earned eight points for the Saints, which was enough to hold off Fairfield.
The Saints return to action on December 6 when they host Sacred Heart University.
